Reason 41: Michelle’s Nephew



Michelle Schuflet from Eau Claire may be up for the “aunt-of-the-year” award with today’s version of the 100 Reasons in 100 Days for Wisconsin to go smoke free.

Michelle’s desire for smoke free workplaces centers on concern for her asthmatic nephew, whose asthma is made worse when exposed to secondhand smoke.

Reason 40: Heart Guard



Julie Jakubowski of Menomonee Falls checks in with reason 40 of the 100 Reasons in 100 Days for Wisconsin to go smoke free.

As Julie tells us, the National Cancer Institute found that between 35,000 and 62,000 nonsmokers die each year from heart disease caused by secondhand smoke.

Reason 39: Protect the Little Ones



Secondhand smoke is the cruelest of killers.

We know secondhand smoke takes many lives each year, but none is more painful than the 2,700 deaths from sudden infant death syndrome each year that are attributable to secondhand smoke.

As Tracy Garvens from Stevens Point tells us, it’s time to put a stop to this killer.
